A guide to passenger conduct and policies when riding with Metrobus

We’d like to welcome you onboard and thank you for being courteous and respectful of your fellow passengers and our employees. Whether you’re on a bus or waiting at a bus stop, our Transit Code of Conduct will help make your ride with Metrobus enjoyable and safe.

|
Metrobus employees and passengers have a right to be treated with dignity and respect at all times without the risk of threatening behaviour or violence.
Aggressive, offensive or violent behaviour will not be tolerated.
Offenders will be asked to leave and riding privileges may be suspended.

|
|
- Be at your stop at least 5 minutes in advance, have your
mCard or cash fare ready before the bus arrives. For safety reasons, passengers are not allowed to board the bus once it has pulled away and proceeded on its route
- Watch your step when entering and exiting - use handrails where provided
- Keep baggage to a minimum, out of the aisle and off seats
- Reserve front seats for seniors and passengers with mobility impairments. To keep our buses clean, we ask that you do not place your feet on bus seats.

Safety is our top priority
|
You deserve a safe ride, our employees deserve a safe place to work.

|
The following will not be tolerated on vehicles and properties owned and operated by Metrobus:
|
|
|
|
Threats, threatening behaviour, harassment and violent actions
|
|
Loud, rowdy, abusive or disruptive behaviour
|
|
Profanity, insulting language or discriminatory behaviour
|
|
|
Smoking or vaping on buses, at or in bus shelters and designated bus waiting areas
|
|
Drug or alcohol use or distribution on buses, at or in bus shelters and designated bus waiting areas
|
|
Bringing weapons or dangerous goods onboard the bus
|
|
|
To promote and foster a safe environment, you may periodically see security personnel onboard.
|
|
|
|
Reporting unsafe or disrespectful behaviour
|
You can report behaviour or actions that are in violation of the Transit Code of Conduct to the Driver or call (709) 722-9400. You can also discreetly report violations by texting (709) 700-0120
|
|
|
In the case of an emergency, notify the Driver and/or call 911.
